The goal of this course is to teach how to inspect a residential electrical panel, including identifying common electrical violations, defects and concerns. This course is ICC approved and is part of the four-point inspection certification.

Goal:
Take your electrical inspection skills to the next level with our Advanced Electrical Inspection Training class. This class covers the evolution of residential electrical systems, from early 1880's knob-and-tube wiring with fuses to modern 200-amp panels. You'll see examples of various types of wiring used in homes and learn how to identify common electrical defects, all inside Pro Spex Academy Training Center.
Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to inspect an electrical panel and identify common electrical violations, defects, and concerns. Follow the instructors as they inspect mock-up panels and components in the studio and take part in a roundtable discussion with local Master Electrician.

- Inspecting the electrical panel, the interior, the bathroom, the kitchen;
- Grounding and bonding;
- Determining the size of the service;
- Safety procedures;
- Common electrical defects and concerns;
- Inspecting the panel and "sub" panel;
- Double-taps and over-fusing;
- Sizing the A/C breaker;
- Multi-wire branch circuits;
- Aluminum wires;
- Electric dryers and appliances;
- Service conductors;
- Grounding rods, GECs, and water pipes;
- Electrical inspection devices and tools;
- Infrared on breakers;
- Federal Pacific and Zinsco;
- GFCI and AFCI breakers and receptacles;
- Proper procedures for testing devices;
- Electrical violations; and
- Disconnects for detached structures.
